The Effect:
The performer approaches a table and asks if he can join the group. The performer explains that he's very good at spotting liars and asks if the group would like him to prove it. Five different coloured poker chips are taken out of a small velvet bag and laid in a row on the table, and with the performer's back turned, one at a time the spectators pick up a poker chip and hide it in their fist behind their back. The performer now turns around and says he's only looking for the blue chip and asks each of the five people if they have it but asks them each to reply by saying 'no'. The performer immediately knows who has the blue chip and who is the liar. The performer waits and inevitably he's asked to perform it again and again and again - he never fails.
Originally created by Jasper over a decade ago in various guises, it took the interest of master mentalist Peter Turner to help bring this to life. The video instructions and multiple live performances, along with in-depth new and original ideas from both Jasper and Peter, means that C.H.I.P.S. becomes a springboard for creativity - once you know the method, you'll be coming up with never-before thought of routines for mentalism.
