THE WONDERLAND and LOOKING GLASS Playing Cards, on sale

After successfully producing his Halloween deck, the imaginative creator Stephen W. Brandt  has decided to launch a project inspired by one of the most popular classics: THE WONDERLAND and LOOKING GLASS.

This project stems from Stephen’s admiration for the illustrations of Lewis  Carrol'sclassic books made by the well-known British cartoonist John Tenniel. Specifically, these two decks are based on two of these works: “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” and “Through the Looking Glass”, made in the mid-nineteenth century.

For these cards, Stephen has decided to start from the original Tenniel’s drawings and adapt them to the traditional playing cards scheme using modern digital tools, creating symmetrical compositions with the best-known characters of Carroll’s works. All these characters are depicted in the court cards and aces with different illustrations in each deck. The monochromatic pattern of the original designs has been respected in order to keep their essence.

The numbered cards use the famous “Swabbed decks pips style” that is present in all his decks with custom symbols in each suit that replace the traditional ones but that make them perfectly recognizable.

The cards will also have different backs with scenes of Alice and her adventures.

A very original pair of decks that will be printed by Make Playing Cards in a very limited edition of 500 units in total (250 of each).
